Ford releases new POLICE INTERCEPTOR models for Chicago Police

FORD has just released the new Police Interceptor model cars for Chicago police Department. This car made by the combination of Sedans and SUVs. By revealing Police Interceptor models, FORD landed a solid beat in the fight to win over police departments. The Ford Announces the sale of 500 new police Interceptor models to the Chicago police department. Then the 2013 Interceptor is accountable for the extra 230 jobs at Torrence Avenue plant, Chicago.

The latest Police Interceptor (PI) models conserves the fuel expenditures to the police department. PI is specially designed for only police work and it has come with two engines. One is 263-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 or the turbocharged Eco Boost 3.5 with 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Department can select either one of their choice.

Honda recalls Odyssey minivans to rectify liftgate problems

Honda has recalled its previous generation (2008-2009) model odyssey minivan to rectify power rear liftgate problems for free of charge. This problem caused because of filling faulty gas that struts on vehicles equipped with a power rear liftgate. A total of 45,747 minivans are affected by this problem.

According to report of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, this problem is mainly caused by a manufacturing mistake it results the leakage of pressurized gas. If there is not enough gas in the strut, it results decrease in performance and unexpected liftgate closing that causes an injury.

Honda noticed that problem, at the same time owners and dealers can replace both gas struts for free of charge. If there is any query about this issue the customers can call to HONDA customer service number 1-800-999-1009.

Nissan decides to launch Electric car in India

The Japanese carmaker Nissan has decided to launch its new highway-capable electric car in India. Kiminobu Tokuyama, MD and CEO of Nissan Motor India told that they were studying the possibility of introducing Leaf in the Indian Market.

Nissan is one of the leading manufacturers in the electric vehicle segment around the world. They sold over 21,000 cars in the last year, mostly in Japan and US. In India, Mahindra Reva Electric vehicle is currently selling and we have expected to launch the second version of Reva as Reva NXR in this year.

But kiminobu Tokuyama refused to give a timeline for introducing the car into the Indian market. He told that it depends on the government approval, after getting approval electric car will introduce in India and we need more government support.

Presently, majority of the car from Nissan is selling Micra and Sunny models. The Company reports that Micra recorded sales up to 1855 units, sunny recorded 3128 units. 85 percent of total manufacture is exported.

Tokuyama said that Nissan will increase the sales percent from 51 to 100 by 2013 and we are looking 1, 00,000 car for sales by 2013-2014. They also plans to launch a compact car priced less than 4 lakh.

BMW Unveiled New M6 coupe and M6 Convertible

BMW launches two new model cars called BMW M6 Coupe and BMW M6 Convertible. The M6 coupe model is fastest car in all versions of BMW cars closer than ever to 4.0 seconds for the 0-100km/h sprint, with a time of 4.2 seconds.

Next Model BMW M6 Convertible despite the weights of retractable roof system, same as BMW M5 model.

The M6 Coupe model takes 9.9 litres of fuel per 100KM and emits 232 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Both M6 Coupe and M6 convertible have increased performance and efficiency. Two Models M6 couple and convertible were tested at Germany’s Nurbutgring circuit has greater level of agility than the regular 6-series models.

Both cars have 19-inch alloy ‘M’ wheels and 20-inch wheels as optional. The M6 coupe again comes with a carbonfibre-reinforced plastic roof that lowers that car’s centre of gravity.

The M6 Coupe can goes 200km/h from standstill half a second faster than the Converitible (12.6 v 13.1sec).
BMW M cars have excellent brakes. Although M6 Coupe or Convertible have standard stoppers, carbon-ceramic brakes are optional.

Fiat has upgraded its new Linea and Punto versions

Recently Fiat had launched its two versions Linea and punto. Tata motors state that there is a demand for diesel cars and fiat focus on these demands. The assistant general manager of Tata Motors Mr. Piyush Lall said that, in 2011 we had sold 18,000 units and we have targeted to sell 20,000 units in 2012

The new model Linea and Punto is made at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra. It is made by joint venture of Tata Motors and the Italian car. They have targeted to wheel out 2,00,00 cars and 3,50,000 enginees a year.

Presently, it was functioning at 70 per cent capacity utilization and with the Maruti Suzuki tie-up for 1, 00,000 diesel engines over a three-year time, utilization was expected to raise, he stated.

The new Linea and Punto versions made with enhanced features such as split foldable seats, bright ivory-grey interiors, and power windows. Linea costs between Rs. 6.92 to Rs. 9.32 lakhs. But Punto costs between Rs. 4.89 to Rs.6.92 lakhs.

Now Fiat upgraded its two versions Linea and Punto Mr. Lall said that the car boast of higher ground clearance with a special kit of Rs. 13,000 including labour charges. Linea will allow 185-190 mm clearance from present 165-170 and linea will allow 180-185 mm from present 160-165 mm clearance.

Suzuki's New regina renamed as G70

Suzuki Motor Corporation will introduce their G70 model in 82^nd Geneva Motor show held on next month. G70 was named before as Regina. Suzuki change their name from Regina into G70. In this Motor show Suzuki introduce their cars and demonstrates that new vision for a compact car incorporating minimized weight and elaborated dynamics. Actually G70 weighs 730 kg only and it has a drag coefficient at least 10 percent lower than that of current Suzuki ‘A’ segment model.

European Driving cycle measured that the G70 CO2 emissions are low as 70g/km. The G70 display will be Swift Range Extender, it is the Suzuki’s latest development in hybrid vehicle technology. This display was first shown at the 2010 Geneva show and it undergoes further development which has resulted in 100 percent improvement in battery driving range to 30km.

This Swift Range Extender utilizes a generator and has 3 cylinder petrol engine of 660cc to power it. It depends only on battery power comparing with a conventional electric vehicle. The range extender has compact lithium-ion battery, it is quickly charge the power and weight less and cost less.

The Suzuki told that G70 was an unusual little car. It build with French looking and will despite its bold styling. Actually the name 70 comes from its carbon emission of 70g/km.

Will electric cars kill petroleum based cars?

Exxon Mobil, the leading oil and Gas Company in the world said that the electric vehicles are cost and its price is going higher comparing to petroleum. But petroleum cars won’t increase much till 2030.

In the past couple of years many autoshows headlines have seen that launch of electric cars such as Nissan's Leaf, the Tesla sports car, plug-ins like General Motors' Chevrolet Volt, and the latest incarnation of the Toyota Prius and other manufacturers including BMW, Rolls-Royce and Porsche have presented electric-powered prototypes. On the basis of this, we can trust that one day auto industry will completely run on electric power only rather than petroleum products.
